Bollywood sometimes seems like a perfect haven of fascimilists. Be it music, plot, story, characterization or the set, our filmmakers have often proved that they lack a major streak of creativity.
While Hollywood movies remain the one-stop destination for ‘getting inspired,’ the world famous HBO show Game of Thrones seems to be Bollywood filmmakers’ latest obsession nowadays for copying new ideas. Don’t believe us? Let Ourtitbits show you how and when Bollywood movies have shamelessly copied ideas from Game of Thrones:
- Baahuballi’s portrayal of Kalkeyas Tribe:
Yes, the famous Baahuballi! Remember the part where Kalkeyas tribe that waged war against Mahishmati kingdom? The way the uncivilized tribe is shown using some unknown mystifying lingua is exactly similar to what Dothraki tribe, a race of nomadic horse-mounted warriors, is shown using in the American fantasy drama series. The similarity here cannot just be a coincidence!
- Raabta’s plot of so-called ‘pichhla janam’:
Remember Raabta’s plot wherein Kirti Sanon’s character recalls her ‘pichhla janam’ where she was a princess who was married off to an uncivilized king who was no-one but Sushant Singh Rajput in another life? Apart from the past life angle ( Game of Thrones is far above for that), the storyline, chemistry between two characters, and even the set was undoubtedly a shameless copy of the American drama’s part wherein Daenerys Targaryen, the youngest child of King Aerys Targaryen, was married off to Khal Drogo of Dothraki, much-against her wishes.
- Padmavati’s Khilji’s look:
Although Padmavati release has been delayed and we don’t know yet when we will get to see the movie, the trailer has given an insight into the movie. Didn’t you notice how Ranveer Singh’s demeanor as Alauddin Khilji seems exactly similar to super-hot Khal Drogo from Game of Thrones? Our very own Khal!
- Kunal Kundrra’s mysterious condition in “1921”:
If you have seen Vikram Bhatt’s 1921 trailer recently, you could have spotted the mysterious skin condition that the movie’s protagonist is cursed with that is slowly spreading across his body and turning his skin into scaly stone. Sounds familiar? Well, the condition has a name and that is the infamous greyscale from “Game of Thrones” that had infected Jorah Mormon and Shireen Baratheon apart from Stonemen living in the ruins of Valyria.
- Tiger Zinda Hai’s Salman Khan combat with wolves:
Wolves have been a part of Game of Thrones since Season 1. The latest pic of Salman Khan in combat with a wolf from Tiger Zinda Hai and that too in the backdrop of a snow-clad mountainous region does seem inspired. Maybe, maybe not, decide yourself!
